Xavi Is Not Surprised by the Success of Mikel Arteta at Arsenal

 

Xavi, the Barcelona boss would not predict the outcome of the thrilling Premier League title race. However, he claims that he isn’t surprised by the success of Mikel Arteta in the Premier League. Irrespective of the whole lurch, Arsenal is 2 points clear of Manchester City and 5 ahead of Man United at the top of the Premier League.


Arsenal just finished in the 5th position last season and is looking to lift the Premier League trophy since 2004, when Arsene Wenger had been in charge of the team. Manchester City in second place aims to win the Premier League title for the 5th time since 2018, while Manchester United- the local rivals haven’t lifted the title of the league since the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson in 2013. BARCELONA TARGET SIXTH STRAIGHT LEAGUE WIN

Catalan giants Barcelona are targeting a sixth successive win in the Spanish La Liga ahead of their away game against Real Mallorca at the weekend. Since the disappointing draw at home to Rayo Vallecano on the opening weekend, manager Xavi Hernandez and his players have won five league games on the bounce.

Barcelona legend Xavi Hernandez has done a good job since he returned to the club to take up the managerial role last season. The Catalans were abysmal in the opening weeks of last season by their high standards and this led to the dismissal of Dutchman Ronald Koeman and appointment of Xavi in the dugout. FRIENDLY: CITY, BARCA IN SIX-GOAL THRILLER

Premier League champions Manchester City and Spanish La Liga outfit Barcelona are two of the biggest teams in the world. They were involved in a club friendly at the Nou Camp on Wednesday. The game between the two teams saw the apprentice face his master. Xavi Hernandez is the Barcelona manager and he played under Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola around a decade ago while he was in charge of the first team at the Catalan club. Xavi and Guardiola won several major trophies together at the Nou Camp including two Champions League titles.

XAVI MASTERMINDS INTER MIAMI ROUT

Spanish football legend Xavi Hernandez was the mastermind as Barcelona thumped Major League Soccer (MLS) club Inter Miami 6-0 in a pre-season friendly match though the Barcelona boss is not on the club’s tour of the United States (US) due to visa issues. It must be pointed out that the game is a pre-season for Xavi Hernandez and his Barcelona players, while Inter Miami are in the middle of the 2022 season as far as MLS football is concerned.


Xavi Hernandez has been able to transform the fortunes of his beloved Barcelona since he was appointed as the new manager towards the end of last year. He came through the famed La Masia Academy at Barcelona before making his debut for the club. He spent the whole of his career at the Nou Camp winning several major trophies in the process. Xavi was able to save Barcelona at a time of need and he’s looking to take them back to the top of European football with the help of the board led by club president Joan Laporta.                 DETAILS FROM XAVI AND PIQUE’S CONVERSATION HAVE BEEN RELEASED

A recent report from Mundo Deportivo has offered a detailed report on Gerard Pique’s meeting with Xavi Hernandez a few weeks ago. It was reported that Xavi does not count Pique highly in light of his injury problems. He does not view the veteran as a first-team regular next season, though the player is keen on proving the coach otherwise by remaining at Camp Nou. Among a series of promises made by Pique during the meeting, one of them was how his personal life will not affect his performance on the pitch.

The Spaniard has attracted all kinds of headlines this year, most recently due to his break-up with Colombian pop star Shakira. The defender was also involved in the Spanish Super Cup deal with Saudi Arabia through his company Kosmos. Pique, though, will not let his personal life affect his performances and has promised to give his all for the team. Amid all the recent controversy, the veteran has also promised Xavi to keep a lower profile and not appear in public for a while. BARCELONA ON THREE-GAME WINNING LEAGUE RUN

Barcelona boss Xavi Hernandez was the mastermind as the Catalan giants secured three league wins in a row after the 3-1 victory over visitors Celta Vigo. The Catalans struggled badly in the league earlier in the season under Dutchman Ronald Koeman before he was replaced by Xavi Hernandez. Since the appointment of the former Spanish international midfielder towards the end of last year, results have improved drastically. Xavi Hernandez has been able to take Barcelona into the top two ahead of the final two weeks of the season after the club was languishing in a disappointing ninth position when he took the job.


Ahead of the Celta Vigo game, Barcelona had already sealed Champions League football for next season and they had the chance to move a step closer to securing a top-two spot for the season. SPAIN: BARCELONA RETURN TO WINNING WAYS

Barcelona are back to winning ways following the 1-0 away win over Real Sociedad on Thursday night. Xavi Hernandez and his players have been able to return to winning ways after a run of two straight defeats in all competitions.

Club legend Xavi has done a very good job since taking charge of the first team at Barcelona last year. The 2010 FIFA World Cup winner was given the job as the permanent manager at the Nou Camp after Dutchman Ronald Koeman was sacked after an average start to the season. With the help of a few signing during the January transfer window, Xavi Hernandez has been able to transform the fortunes of the Catalan giants until the last two matches before the trip to Anoeta to take on Real Sociedad.
